The Love Breakfast, hosted by Lia Lapithi, invites couples and others to have breakfast in the exhibition rooms of the
A. G. Leventis Gallery and to become part of a special experiential event. The artist draws inspiration from history
through the words and images of the books Ancient Cyprus: 9000 Years of Culture by Vassos Karageorghis,
Kypris: The Aphrodite of Cyprus by Jacqueline Karageorghis and The Erotic Life in the Ancient Art of Cyprus by Pavlos Flourentzou.

WRITING ON PLATE: A very ancient Cyprus cult developed during the late Neolithic period when interest in the manifestation
of sex grew. Stone representations of various sized phalli gradually began to appear, which may have preceded those of
female figures, the earliest of which were stone idols incised with lines indicating a deep vulva, both now combined in a human form.

The piece was inspired by archaeologist Vassos Karageorghis "Ancient Cyprus, 9000 years of culture", which describes the collection in the Nicosia museum and Paulos florentsos "Erotic life in ancient Cyprus", phallus-vulva images above and on the 2 breakfast plates.
