Οδύσσεια: Πλέοντας στα Λιμάνια της ΕΕ

Αυτή είναι η δεύτερη σειρά πανοραμικών καμβάδων, που ξεκινά από την Κύπρο και ακολουθεί ένα δυτικό ταξίδι—αυτή τη φορά περιλαμβάνοντας τα λιμάνια της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, όχι μόνο εκείνα της μεσογειακής ΕΕ.

Ο πρώτος καμβάς παρουσιάζει ένα πολύ σκούρο μπλε-μαύρο φόντο, με τον τίτλο και μια μικρή περιγραφή στα ελληνικά: …δεν είμαστε μακριά, είμαστε εκτός κέντρου («…δεν είμαστε μακριά, είμαστε εκτός κέντρου»), αναφερόμενη στη γεωπολιτική θέση της Κύπρου σε σχέση με τις χώρες της ΕΕ. Σχέδια από χάρτινα ιστιοφόρα πλέουν στον καμβά, σαν να έχουν σχεδιαστεί με κιμωλία σε μαυροπίνακα.

Ο δεύτερος καμβάς παρουσιάζει ένα πρόχειρο περίγραμμα των χωρών της ΕΕ, με αριθμούς από το 1 έως το 12 να επιπλέουν στη γαλάζια θάλασσα.

Ο τρίτος καμβάς απαριθμεί τα ονόματα αυτών των δώδεκα θαλασσών, ξεκινώντας από τη Μεσόγειο και καταλήγοντας στη Θάλασσα της Γροιλανδίας.

Ο τέταρτος καμβάς, σε αλφαβητική σειρά, παρουσιάζει τα 21 κύρια λιμάνια ανά χώρα της ΕΕ που είναι προσβάσιμα δια θαλάσσης, μαζί με την απόστασή τους σε ναυτικά μίλια από την Κύπρο.

Odyssey: Sailing to EU Ports

This is the second series of panoramic canvases, beginning in Cyprus and tracing a westward journey—this time including the ports of the European Union, not just those of the Mediterranean EU.

The first canvas presents a very dark blue-black background, with the title and a small description in Greek:
…δεν είμαστε μακριά, είμαστε εκτός κέντρου (“…we are not far, we are off-center”), referencing Cyprus’ geopolitical position relative to EU countries. Sketches of paper sailing boats float across the canvas, drawn as if with chalk on a blackboard.

The second canvas displays a rough outline of the EU countries, with numbers 1 to 12 floating at the blue sea.

The third canvas lists the names of these twelve seas, beginning with the Mediterranean and ending with the Greenland Sea.

The fourth canvas, arranged alphabetically, are the 21 major ports per EU country accessible by sea, alongside their nautical-mile distances from Cyprus.

Above this night-sail panorama, small black circular canvases outline the stars one might encounter on this journey—Aphrodite, Antares, Regulus, Spica, Arcturus, Sirius, Capella—and even the low orbit satellite Kyrenia3, currently in preparation, above Cyprus.
